Much Love and Thanks!

Related Posts with ThumbnailsI wanted to send a big thank you to all of you who purchased from Kenton Beadworks so far this year!
We were able to donate almost $300 to the local non-profit, Friends of the Children. they hosted a super fun bowl-a-thon this weekend. One of my closest friends has worked there for a few years as a mentor and I can see the difference she has made on a handful of Portland youngsters.

I can't help but think of all of the kids who may have been impacted by not so great parents. I'm eternally grateful that there is a solid organization such as FOTC to help make such a positive impact of these kids and their futures.

My better half and I bowled with our respective teams and had a blast. Thank you again for your support!

Have a great week!

Sunshine all up in this winter!

If you also live in an area that has limited sunny days during the winter months, you might be able to procure your own with this piece in my shop:

Favorite Food Cart

Related Posts with ThumbnailsNong's Khao Man Gai = freaking deliciousness.
I'm not sure if it's the super friendly and cheerful staff handing me the food wrapped in white butcher paper, the gads and gads of ginger, or the high I get from their sauce, but it is darn tootin good.
Get your bad self down to 10th and Alder and try some.

Spring Line- this weekend!

Related Posts with ThumbnailsWhaaaat? Yep! The Spring Line will be up in the Kenton Beadworks shop this weekend! So, what's with the not-so-springlike photo? I had some time on my hands this weekend while making the trip to Beautiful and Scenic Leavenworth, WA for a wedding. We took the train up instead of driving because driving in the snow scares the crap out of me. Plus, we didn't have to use any gas!

The wedding was literally picture perfect. Horse drawn sleighs, fireplace at the lodge and the Bride did an OUTSTANDING job planning the whole shin-dig. We had a great time and hope John and Tana are having a wonderful honeymoon! Congratulations you two love birds!

Radical prank

This is by far the coolest thing I have seen on the web in a long time:

I never really understood why people cry when they watch opera. I may have teared up a bit watching that.

Happy Weekend Y'all!

Sunday

Happy Happy and all Rested

Welcome to 2010, folks.
After a nice relaxing vacation, I am working myself back into a routine of getting up at a decent time and actually working on orders. I'm still working on the working part; I haven't beaded a single thing since 12/19. A slight miracle, my Husband will tell you. Which leads me to the resolution list. I kept it short and simple this year:

1) Spend less time beading, and be social again!
2) Try one new recipe per month.
3) Stop cussing.

This is the year that I learn to balance my social life and my business. When I do, it is going to be radical.  What are your resolutions this year?

Holy cold, Batman!

It's been in the 20's here in Portland with no snow. Le Brrrrr.
In other news, I am done with all of my Kenton Beadwork trunk shows for the year! Woot!

This last Saturday was the perfect finish; champagne, more champagne and good vibes. Kristenlee of Studio Thirty put on a great show in her NE Portland Salon. I met the nicest people and most notably, Nicole Linde, Who just happens to be one of my favorite Portland Artists. Did I mention the Champagne? It was great.
Midway through the show we received word that Anthony Keidis was across the street. We all were kind of secretly hoping he and his date would stop by and peruse, but no dice.

Afterwards we ended up at Fat's. If you haven't been there or heard of it, I'm right there with ya. I thought it was brand new, however it's a hidden gem. Maybe an oasis...of english goodies. You must check it out.
Everything from the food, service and booze was top notch.

And I have to share, I scored this AMAZING original piece from Nicole Linde:

It's a Christmas gift...but I'm really excited about it.
Here's to a fantastic week-Cheers!
