New Do

Related Posts with ThumbnailsIt's that time of year again! Time to get the mop chopped, that is. I succumbed to the angled bob for the past 6 months and now that it is summer, I need something new.  This go round, I am going to embrace my curly hair and get some layers, perhaps razored ends...who knows, I will likely change my mind before my appointment tomorrow. Here are my ideas so far:

Which one do you like best? I am leaning towards the Jennifer Hudson cut...

Ah! Sunshine has finally shown up here in Portland and it has been nice. Real nice.
Summer is officially here and we'll be giving it a big high-five this weekend with a nice bike ride through North Portland, thanks to Sunday Parkways. To top it off, the Organic Brew Fest will also be going on this weekend. Might have to stop and check that out after our bike ride!

New Line-Update

Related Posts with ThumbnailsSo this weekend didn't go as planned. The rain clouds swept in on Friday and gave us a scare, and since the high on Saturday was supposed to be 50 with showers, we decided to pass. the good news is that we were able to accomplish tons of projects! The new line of "Droplets" is slowly trickling into the shop so be sure to check that out. There will be many more stones/colors available soon.
Have a great week and happy solstice to you!

Music Flashback-rants and confessions

We listen to the radio at the little office I work at during the day, and often, I don't pay too much attention to the station, but I cannot think unless I have some background noise.

Unless that is, one of the songs that I despise comes on. It's jarring...typing away in pseudo-mindless bliss at my desk when Carly Simon's "You're So Vain" comes on. It makes me flash back to my first retail job where they had these awful soundtracks that played the same songs over and over again.
I worked at said retail establishment for 3 years, so those evil songs are forever ingrained in my brain. I do forget about them until they are played thank goodness.

On another note, here's a short list of songs that I heard on the radio today that remind of me random stuff:

"My Sharona" reminds me of: the Janet Reno Dance Party skit from SNL
"Juke Box Hero" every single time, I think of the movie Air Guitar Nation (You must watch it for the weirdness that is a bunch of dudes from around the world competing against each other.) I especially think of the guy with the Hello Kitty shield on his chest. Did I mention the movie is a little weird? It is.
"In the Air Tonight" now will forever remind me of Mike Tyson rocking out to Phil Collins in The Hangover.
"Is This It" by the Strokes reminds me of this bar called XV that my Husband and I used to frequent when we were dating. We must have played every song on that jukebox.
"Like Spinning Plates" Reminds me of my first kiss with my Husband. *sigh*
--I want to hear about your random memory songs too! Please share. Thanks!

Sponsored By The Letter: Beer

Related Posts with ThumbnailsThis Memorial Day weekend the Mister and I got our house projects completed and celebrated with beer. Lots of beer. Work hard and play harder, is what I always say!

One of this things I love most about Portland is the numerous fun places that serve all sorts of different beer. Prost for instance, serves just about any decent (and delicious)German bier. I do love me some German beer.

One new place we found was Saraveza over off of Killingsworth in North Portland. I love the feeling this place evokes. You feel like you are at your Grandparent's home, with the from scratch grub, good service, and good juju. Whether you want the hoppiest of hoppy, sourest of ciders or a good wheat beer, Saraveza has you covered. They also have Hamms, in case you like to keep it real.
