I'm still here

Related Posts with ThumbnailsSorry I haven’t been writing much at all lately. This last holiday season my Dad had a terrible stroke 12 days before Christmas and everything has been put on hold for a bit.

For those of you who don’t know the man that my Husband and I lovingly refer to as 'Jorge', let me paint a picture for you: 70 year old dude, and by dude, I mean in the Big Lebowski ‘Dude’ meets Willie Nelson meets Popeye type of guy. He's a hard worker and provided for our family by working as an Iron Worker in various western states and could draw and/or paint like nobody’s business. In a nutshell, that is Jorge.

Dad was in a skilled nursing facility (I refuse to call it a nursing home, because Dad wouldn’t like me telling people that is where he is.) for a few months and has been making great physical progress. Every time I see him, he looks better than the last time we visited. He now has a right arm that doesn't work as great as it once did and can't say more than a few select words. Mostly curse words. Oh, that Jorge...I tell you what.

He's happily situated in a sunny room with his computer, TV and his spiffy new wheelchair.

If you want to know more, I’m happy to oblige to share, just drop me an email or comment here.

With that said, hugs for everyone!

Last Trunk Show of 2010!

Related Posts with ThumbnailsIt's December already? Man, this year has really flown by.

It's time to thank my loyal and local clients with some sweet sweet trunk show deals! Think of it as an exclusive sale...I only offer these deals at my last trunk show of every year.
For you local Portlanders, come say hello and check out one of the best salons in Portland, snack, sip and participate in a killer raffle!

The Lovely Ladies of Studio Thirty will be providing holiday hairstyle how-to's... Cool art, Punk Rock Bangles, Hats, Jewelry and Fabulous Snow Globes...

What: 2nd Annual Craft Bazaar
Where: STUDIO THIRTY  (handy map here: http://tinyurl.com/3xs4mdd )When:This Saturday, Dec. 4 from 5-8pm

100% of raffle proceeds are donated to local non-profits: Ethos, Audubon Society and Povertybridge.

What you could win: (1 hour of tattoo from Jesse@ Blackbird), Breakside Pub, Concordia Alehouse, and more.

Shopping Fee-vah!

One side effect people have from a turkey coma is Shoppin fever! It's true, people voluntarily wake up at 5am and hit the crowded malls, fighting over the last $1 toaster.

I have never been one to wake up at the crack of dawn (or dark, as the case may be) to stand in line to score a super deal with a crowd of shoppers. Having worked in retail for eons, I kind of protest shopping on Black Friday, truth be told.

Having said that, I am all about Cyber Monday! On 11/29 in my Etsy Shop everything will be on sale--BOGO style. That's right-everything is on sale-buy one get one 50% off. Discounts are taken from the lowest priced item and refunded via PayPal after checkout.  No coupon code needed, just purchase two items. Easy Peasy.

Today it occurred to me that alot of us have to work on said Monday so I am starting the sale a bit early. Starting on Sunday, 11/28. Sip your cup of jo (or mimosa!) and peruse in your PJs before heading back to work.

That is all for now! Enjoy your holiday weekend, folks!

Yoga Goodness

Happy Winter!
Sorry I haven't been updating as much...lots of stuff going on. I hurt my back, celebrated a few weddings, birthdays and took a little trip to the coast. Now that I have caught up with some custom orders, I finally got myself out of the house to do some yoga. My goodness! I am so glad I did.

I want to share with you this fabulous yoga studio in North Portland which has the most amazing feel to it.
There is no way I could accurately describe the feeling of it...in a couple of words: warm and peaceful.
This photo doesn't do it it justice either, it looks so much more homey now with the plants especially with mats on the ground. I love the backdrop and the sun streaming through the curtains.
Most of all, the classes are fabulous. The instructors really do give personalized attention to form of each student in the class and convey instructions in a fluid and clear way.

Now with the holidays upon us, yoga is the perfect way to de-stress and give yourself a little gift of relaxation!
Have a great day!

Happy Fall Y'all!

Related Posts with ThumbnailsAs I sit here typing away, I am enjoying a nutmeg spiked coffee beverage and wearing a sweater. We even raked some leaves off of the lawn this weekend. It's official. Fall is here!
I've added a few new pieces and relisted some bestsellers in fall hues.

I hope you'll join me in high-fiving fall (even though we really didn't receive a full summer here in Portland), which is my favorite season. Have a super week!

Happy Weekend

Mount Adams hike on our favorite trail. We made it all of the way to the Pacific Crest Trail, which was about 4 miles in, up a steady incline. The views at the end were so worth it!
