Related Posts with ThumbnailsSorry I haven't been posting as much recently. I've been soaking up all of the awesome days of summer that we've been having here in the Pacific NW. Hiking, camping and time with friends have been taking up any free time we have had. I hope to make it up soon with some new designs! Stay tuned!

I think it is time for some rest & relaxation this weekend. The backyard is in bloom and it's calling
my name.

Local Biz Love: Homebew Exchange

Related Posts with ThumbnailsA lovely little shop tucked away off of Denver & Kilpatrick in Kenton that houses anything and everything you'd need to make your own home brewed beer, homemade wine, cheeses, and now kombucha! The owners are wonderful, nice and quite knowledgeable.
Last night I took the Kombucha 101 Class and bought all of my supplies right there. In my own 'hood!
The class and supplies were all around $30 too, which is a pretty sweet deal.
Did you know some of the touted health benefits of drinking kombucha? Here ya go:

Lactic acid plays a major role in maintaining a healthy digestive system.

Acetic Acids main function is to fight off harmful unwanted bacteria. This is also what gives Kombucha its definitive smell and taste.
Malic Acid Aids the body in detoxification.
Gluconic Acid and Butyric Acid Both of these acids are affective in fighting many different kinds of yeast infections.

Amino acids, the building blocks of protein, assist the human body with building cells, repairing tissue, and forming antibodies to fight off invading bacteria and viruses.
Diminishes flu and cold symptoms
Treats and prevents asthma
Increases energy
Soothes heat rash
Clears nail fungus
Heals boils and staff infections
Calms menstrual cramps
Alleviates the pain of arthritis
Cleans toxins from your system
Eliminates insomnia
Smooths out cellulite & helps burn fat
Reduces allergy symptoms
Relieves muscular aches

Wish me luck on brewing my very first batch this weekend. It should be ready in about 8-10 days!

Summer is here!

Related Posts with ThumbnailsIt's going to be a hot one today-in the triple digits! The majority of Portlanders are probably thinking-finally!! The summer didn't show up until last week. I hope your summer is treating you right.

I've been daydreaming about a long hike in the mountains and camping now that it's warm enough. I can't wait to soak up some nature this weekend!

Hope you all have a happy and safe Fourth of July! I'm looking forward to a good ol' fashioned barbeque with friends, sleeping in and watching the neighbors light off their fireworks.

New Do

Related Posts with ThumbnailsIt's that time of year again! Time to get the mop chopped, that is. I succumbed to the angled bob for the past 6 months and now that it is summer, I need something new.  This go round, I am going to embrace my curly hair and get some layers, perhaps razored ends...who knows, I will likely change my mind before my appointment tomorrow. Here are my ideas so far:

Which one do you like best? I am leaning towards the Jennifer Hudson cut...
